1,033 cr due from Videocon Group not wrongful loss: Bank

73-yr-old man gets 3-year jail term for molesting schoolgirls in 2016

A 73-year-old man in Mumbai has been sentenced to three years in prison for molesting minor girls. The accused was arrested after the girls followed him home and called the police. The man, who once worked as an actor, claimed he was falsely implicated in the case. The court, however, found him guilty based on the prompt reporting of the incident and the girls' testimony. Oshiwara rape-and-murder: Possibility of planting evidence can’t be ruled out: Court acquits watchman

A sessions court in Mumbai has cleared a watchman of charges of raping and murdering a 74-year-old resident, citing illegal detention and possible evidence planting. The court concluded that the prosecution had failed to prove the charges against the accused, Mohammed Rafi. The defence argued that Rafi was illegally detained by the police for 15 days, during which time evidence may have been planted. The court accepted this defence and rejected the prosecution's claim that Rafi targeted the woman out of fear of losing his job.

New illnesses being introduced to increase Dheeraj Wadhawan’s hospital stay: Court

A special CBI court has accused doctors of introducing new illnesses to extend the hospital stay of DHFL promoter Dheeraj Wadhawan, who is accused in the DHFL-Yes Bank loan fraud case. The court also noted that Wadhawan's family attempted to sneak a mobile phone into his hospital room. The CBI alleges that Yes Bank invested INR 4,727 crore ($633 million) in DHFL bonds in return for a kickback to then CEO Rana Kapoor.

Two Dongri men get 20 years in jail for raping minor girl

Dr Adnanali Sarkar, arrested in the ISIS module case, was produced before a special NIA court where the NIA sought his custody. The NIA claimed that Sarkar was related to Zulfikar Ali Barodawala, whose role had surfaced during Sarkar's probe. The NIA also obtained custody of Barodawala and another person named Zubair Noor Mohammed Shaikh, claiming that they had given shelter and funds to two other suspects. Yes bank-DHFL loan fraud: Extend Wadhawan’s hospital stay at your own risk: Court to doctor

On July 11, the special court allowed Wadhawan to take treatment in a private hospital but restrained him from staying beyond eight days. Last week, Wadhawan was operated upon in the hospital. However, his doctor, Dr Gokhale, approached the court for an extension of his hospitalisation for three to four more days

Special court refuses medical bail to Avinash Bhosale

A special court has denied bail to Avinash Bhosle, a businessman accused in the Yes Bank-DHFL loan fraud case, on medical grounds. No pre-arrest bail to MMA master booked for cheating Tiger Shroff’s mom

The sessions court in Mumbai has rejected the anticipatory bail plea of businessman Alan Fernandes, who is accused of duping actor Tiger Shroff's mother, Ayesha Shroff, out of ?58 lakh. Dadar man acquitted 22 years after being charged with selling animal skins
