13,155 cybercrime cases registered in U.P. since 2022: Govt

The Uttar Pradesh government has taken legal action against 7,570 cyber criminals, recovering ₹90 crore from them in over a year. 13,155 cybercrime cases were registered between 2022 and March 2023, with charge sheets filed in 4,372 cases and final reports in 4,606. The state government is actively dealing with cybercrime and has seen a decline in crime rates since the Yogi Adityanath government took office.

Khanna said the state government was proactively dealing with cases of cybercrime in the state. He said the Yogi government has adopted zero tolerance policy against crimes, including cyber offences. (For representation)

Below 50% attendance in KGBVs in 30 U.P. districts

Low attendance in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs) in Uttar Pradesh has caused concern. The state education department has instructed officials to ensure 100% attendance in these schools, which offer free residential schooling for girls from backward areas and communities. The lowest attendance was recorded in Ballia at 28%, while the highest was in Fatehpur at 79%. Officials have been warned that salaries will be withheld for wardens in schools with low attendance. The KGBV scheme aims to boost education among marginalized girls and is part of the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan programme.
