Lawyer Kamlesh Singh, son of a zila panchayat member, was shot dead near his residence in Kushinagar district. Police suspect a rival family member.

Northeast Delhi riots: LG nod to prosecute six

Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has granted prosecution sanction for six individuals involved in the 2020 Delhi riots, where a man died due to gunshot injury. The riots were a result of protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act. Separately, Saxena also granted sanction for prosecution in a case related to the desecration of a statue of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar.

Delhi government launches portal for ‘green internships’

Delhi environment minister Gopal Rai has launched a new portal for internships with the Delhi government in the fields of environment and forest. The portal aims to make youth aware of the functioning of the forest and wildlife department and to contribute to the ecological security of Delhi. The government has a plantation target of 5.2 million saplings this year.
