Doctors have also seen a rise in leptospirosis cases and attribute the increase to Covid-19 lockdown restrictions being lifted, leading to more outdoor activities and negligence towards hygienic practices. The BMC has issued an advisory cautioning citizens to avoid wading in stagnant rainwaters to prevent leptospirosis.
