BEST’s wet lease drivers call off strike after meeting with CM

Drivers with wet lease operators on contract with BEST have ended their strike after a meeting with the chief minister, who agreed to some of their demands. 90% of the wet lease buses were back on the road by Tuesday evening. The drivers' demands included a salary hike, paid leaves, annual bonuses, and free bus passes. The government also agreed to discuss the possibility of making the drivers permanent BEST employees. BEST authorities reported a drop in daily passenger numbers and revenues during the strike.

Thane college fined 1.1 lakh for delaying marksheets by three years

Soon, students of government-run schools will be served multigrain foods

The eight-member committee headed by celebrity chef Vishnu Manohar submitted a report to the state education minister. “To get good quality of food, the government must increase the remuneration of the person or organisations appointed to prepare midday meals,” the report stated

This is the first time the school education department constituted such a committee whose main aim was to incorporate millet and other nutrients in a child’s diet.
